I am so excited for this new year as I know it will hold many positive happenings. I reflect on the past year, 2010, and view it as bitter sweet. Many personal victories, but just as many failures. That's o.k.; the type of person I am, I will learn from my failures, move on, and make positive changes for this new year. I can't wait!
For 2011, I am committing to a number of personal goals (some people call them "resolutions"; I like to call them "GOALS"). One "goal" at the top of my list is staying in God's word on a consistent basis for direction and strength. Part of doing this will be participating in the "2011 Siesta Scripture Memory Team" starting today (CLICK HERE for more instructions/information).
For my first verse of the year I am choosing a passage from Galatians. So many times I get discouraged and feel like giving up. This verse will encourage me to not give up no matter what.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
A few verses before my selected memory verse (in vs. 7), I am reminded "a man reaps what he sows". I will hold on to this warning as I memorize God's encouragement and promise to me in vs. 9.
Happy New Year, everyone... may your new year be filled with much joy and many blessings!

I too joined the Siesta Scripture challenge. My first verse is:
Psalm 115:1 Not to us, Lord, not to us, but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.
Can't wait to see how He is going to use these verses to minister into my life, seep into my soul and change me from the inside out!
